We have developed an imaginary company FABAK textiles the name is based on the groups members first names letters, The purpose of FABAK textile is to manufacture cotton fabric and to export it globally. Company profile Company is producing high quality cotton fabric. The raw material is purchased from international market; the material is processed in the production house at Multan Road, Lahore. The head office is located at Gulberg-III, Lahore.

Job summary
Industrial production managers plan, direct, and coordinate the production activities that produce millions of goods every year. They make sure production proceeds smoothly and stay within budget. Depending on the size of the manufacturing plant, industrial production managers may oversee the entire plant or just one area.

Responsibilities & duties


overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedule; ensuring that the production is cost effective; making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality; working out the human and material resources needed; drafting a timescale for the job; estimating costs and setting the quality standards;

monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed; being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment; monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs liaising among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers; working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals; reviewing the performance of subordinates; Identifying training needs. A production manager is responsible for preproduction (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage.

Interview panel composition We will conduct panel interview in which a group of interviewers questions the applicant. The will consist of three individuals and they interview the candidate simultaneously and combine the rating into final panel score. The interviewer is following General Manager Technical Manager HR Manager These three highly experience interviewer are selected for the hiring of production manager. The technical manager is selected to evaluate the technical aspects of production manger, while general manger and HR manger are selected to evaluate its managerially skills and behavior as well. This panel will conducted situational and behavioral interview. Questions and test Why did you want to join our organization? What is your past experience? What are the international quality standards for export of fabrics? What are the factors to have better quality of product? How many ways the waste of production can be controlled? What you will do if the labor in production unit refuses to perform the job? How the conflicts between labors can be controlled?

Have you faced labor conflicts in the past? How you handled this kind of issue in the past?

Orientation program

Will be given basic background information, awareness of company basic rules and policies

in orientation the new recruit will be introduced to to the top management

Training and development program


We will conduct the training of a production by following methods Job instruction training

As a production manager is familiar to his duties but we have to indicate the task that he has to perform in the organization. We list all necessary steps in the job in a proper sequence Computer based training

In computer based training we will use DVD systems to I nteractively increase his knowledge or skills. Audio visual based training

In this test we will use like films, power points video conference, audio and video tapes because they are very effective and widely used. Programmed learning

We will use this systematic method for teaching job skills to production manager involving presenting questions allowing the person to respond and giving the immediate feedback on the accuracy of his answer.

Performance assessment criteria


Graphic rating Scale: We will use graphical rating scale that contains a number of traits and a rage of performance for each trait. The assessed will by identifying the score that best describes his level of performance for each trait.
