RUPEE SIGN IN RHEL4

1. Download the font 'Rupee_Foradian.ttf' 2. make the 'ttf' directory in 'fonts' folder

# mkdir /usr/share/fonts/ttf
3. Copy the font into 'ttf' directory and change the file permission.

# cp Rupee_Foradian.ttf /usr/share/fonts/ttf/ # chmod 644 /usr/share/fonts/ttf/ Rupee_Foradian.ttf


4. Make 'ttf' directory as font directory and add it

# ttmkfdir > fonts.scale # mkfontdir


5. logout and login again. open office writer or calc, change the font to 'Rupee_Foradian' and then press '~ ' key separately. Don't use any combination keys like 'SHIFT+~', 'CTL+~' or 'ALT+~' You can see the rupee symbol as below.
