English Debate Competition Nersvaganza 2011 A.

System System that is used in English Debate Competition Nersvaganza 2011 is Asian Parliamentary. In Asian Parliamentary Style, there are 2 teams - Government and Opposition. Each team has 3 members and each team gives 4 speeches. The format is a limited preparation format, meaning that the motion will be announced 30 minutes before the debate. For substantive speeches, each member will be given 7 minutes and 20 seconds. The opposing team can stand up and ask for Points of Information (POI) after the first minute and until the sixth minute. POI should be a brief question or comment and not a long-winded monologue or back and forth cross examination session. POI also must less than 15 seconds. After that both of team will be given 5 minutes and 20 seconds for reply speech that clarifies the debate from the Opposition perspective without bringing forth new arguments. Reply speech will be begun by the Opposition team and closed by Government team. The whole competitions consist of three rounds, which are: Preliminary round Semi Final round Final Round 8 teams, 3 round 4 teams, 1 round 2 teams, 1 round Motion Preference Motion Preference Impromptu Motion
