Status of Ambient Air Quality and Noise Levels during Bharat Bandh called on 5.7.2010 Bharat Bandh was observed on 5.7.2010. To know the impact of Bandh on Noise and Air Quality, Noise and Ambient Air Quality monitoring was carried out in Bangalore City at selected places. Noise and Air quality monitoring was carried at six locations comprising Industrial area, residential, rural and other area and sensitive area. 24 hours as per the CPCB guidelines. Measured pollutants in all above mentioned places (SPM, RSPM,NOx,SO2, and CO) have decreased by 40.6 % on Bandh day , when compared to Normal day Measured Noise levels in all above mentioned places have decreased by 30.25 % on Bandh day when compared to Normal day
