Review of Indus Script Dictionary

I stumbled on Indus Script Dictionary by accident, and what a treasure I landed into. I have followed works of various researchers and their attempts to decipher Indus Valley script for over 15 years and Indus Script Dictionary stands apart for many reasons, but specifically for its deductive logic. Author tells us that she began with a hypothesis that IV Script was Tamil and went to test this possibility by studying multiple seals and realized that IV script was meaningful when read as Sanskrit. Her biggest find though is the realization that IV script appears to be not only Sanskrit but rather a combination of Sanskrit-Prakrut-Apabhramsha. This finding has numerous consequences for Indian and world history. I would have preferred to have some background on the efforts of other researchers who have also tried to decipher IV script, strengths and weaknesses of their approaches and proposals. This would have allowed ordinary readers to compare her works against the rest. Sue Sullivan s Indus Script Dictionary is very promising and if her thesis holds through, all the works on Indus Script to date, done all over the world, would sound like child s babble.
