You are on page 1of 3

The cover page will look like this.

The title will appear all across the top of the page, applying itself to the rule of thirds somewhat. The mid-shot of me will also contribute to how a layout of a magazine looks like. The cut out of me will be shaded dark and black to the point where my face is barely visible. Inside the cut-out of me, there are 4 people; these will be the band members of THE HIT who are featured as the main stars on the cover. The band being inside the cut-out of one person symbolises how the break up that they have had (which is discussed as the main storyline in the double page spread) makes them all alone now that they are going their separate ways. Basically, the main image is imagery added to the storyline featured as an attractive inclusion on the front cover. There are also banners and another image lower down, which is added firstly to present content featured in the magazine itself, and secondly, just to add visual interest to be appealing towards the readers.

The contents has a layout in contrast to those seen in the magazine analysis, instead of a main image surrounded by lots of text, all images are featured at the top, and are separated by the contents itself at the bottom. This was done to make the layout less generic, as well as to make all content stand out from each other. The images of faces show members of the band as the main storyline relates to their break up. All images provide interesting visual content that relates to the storyline featured in the magazine.

This is a basic design of the double page spread. Considering these shots were taken before the stages of creating the draft article, the article of the interview and summary itself is not present on this draw up. The magazine has a main image in the centre, showing an image of the band with sunglasses, as they act cool even though they have split up. The HIT goes split is a classy heading which is used as a rhyming phrase to add interest to the story being discussed in the article. The article itself will consist of an interview, which starts at the left of the image all the way to the bottom. The summary/review of the issue will be at the right of the page where that column is. The double page spread will help with marks as it will allow me to get a full idea of where to go with magazine content, and it will show my magazine designing and organising skills.
