1905 - American Golden Dawn in Boston - Notes and Queries


Sylvester Clark Gould was a very interesting American Occultist. He was involved with Yarker, and most every American Occult Group of much value, but he is most widely known for his role in the S.R.I.A. (America). He published a monthly journal on the Occult, particularly in its more Western form, called Historic Magazine and Notes and Queries. The title page to Volume XXIII of the 1905 edition of this journal can be seen below:

This particular issue of the journal has a section (continued from Volume 14, number 11, 1896) called: "Arcane Societies in the United States". In this article is listed at the bottom of page 95: "The Order of the Golden Dawn in the Outer". This notes that there was an active Outer Order in Boston and to contact the Editor (S.C.
