Monday, 06 February 2012 NOTIFICATION OF FIELD TRIP Dear Parents of Year 6 students, Our Exhibition unit of inquiry this year will be Where we are in place and time. The Central Idea for this unit is:
Ideas and actions can cause a shift in thinking and change the course of history.

To start this unit of inquiry there will be a particular focus on our host country Thailand. Students will be investigating:
Significant events and people that have brought about change in history Ways that the world may continue to change in the future Causes and consequences of change Our own personal connections with change Different perspectives about change

To assist the students to tune in to the new unit, we plan to visit the Museum of Siam which is located at No. 4 Sanam Chai Road, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok (quite close to the Grand Palace). All of the students from Year 6 will be visiting the museum on either Thursday, February 16 or Friday February 17. During this visit, the students will be given the opportunity to inquire into the history of Thailand through the excellent displays and multimedia presentations at the museum. Below is the schedule for the visits:
Thursday, February 16 (Day B) 6CB, 6JK Friday, February 17 (Day C) 6GD 6SS 6JB

Both field trips will depart NIST at approximately 9.00am and arrive back at NIST at approximately 2.00pm. Both school and Montri vehicles will be used to provide transport. As we will be having lunch at the museum, students who are on the meal plan will have their lunch provided by the school caterer. Students who normally bring their own lunch will need to bring their lunch with them as per usual. All students will also need to bring a drink bottle with water and a hat.
