It is regulated by a volunteer board of directors and executive director, Wanda Secord, is responsible for the agencys operation. Durham CAS Goals:

Working together to improve the quality of life for children and youth, and help them reach their full potential Empowering parents to make more positive choices that ultimately impact their parenting and ensure the safety of children Services: Durham Childrens Aid Society provides support to families such as hosting events and specific workshops (ex. for teen parents) to educate the families within their community. They may also accommodate living arrangements for children who have been apprehended, offer financial support: Extended Care Maintenance (ages 18-21), referring families to appropriate services (ex. counselling/mediation), provide assistance on reporting or how to resolve domestic matters, placing children in foster care or group homes, and overall this agencys role is to protect childrens well being from abuse and those who have suffered abuse or neglect and to positively impact families. Durham CAS also provides services and a variety of programs specifically to children with specialized cases such as intensive care or additional protection. These programs include the Family Support and High Risk Infant Nurse programs, and our Onsite Health Clinic.

The agencys telephone line is available around the clock, 24 hours, 7 days a week.
