Working capital refers to the funds invested in current assets i.e. investment in stock sundry debtors, cash and other current assets. It is obvious the the certain amount (in Rs) of funds is always tied up[ in raw material inventories work- in-progress finished goods consumable stores sundry debtors and day-to day cash requirements working capital management is concerned with the interrelationship between current assets and current liabilities. The goal of the working capital management is to manage the firm, current liabilities to such a way that a satisfactory level of working capitals is maintained. Therefore the interaction between current assets and current liabilities is the main them of working capital.
