    Field reports have been received describing instances of detachment of the rubber bumpers used to retain the case lid insert in place. Exposure to substantial impact as well as extreme heat or cold may weaken the adhesive bond holding the rubber feet to the case lid. Hook / latch fastening material (Velcro) is available through Imation Global Technical Service. This material is retrofitted between the case lid and lid insert being installed per the drawing below.

    * Situation You May Encounter: Field reports have been received describing instances of detachment of the rubber bumpers used to retain the case lid insert in place. (see picture below)

    * Root Cause Understanding: Exposure to substantial impact as well as extreme heat or cold may weaken the adhesive bond holding the rubber feet to the case lid. The rubber bumpers then become detached from the case lid.

    * Recommended Action: Hook / latch fastening material (Velcro) is available through Imation Global Technical Service which replaces the rubber bumpers. This material is retrofitted between the case lid and lid insert being installed per the drawing below. This attachment method has superior holding characteristics ensuring that the case lid insert stays securely fastened to the lid.
