Production Screen Shots of Contents Page

Roughly every 10 minutes I took screen shots of my contents page to show its production and firstly I placed my original image in on the page covering 2 thirds on the left side to work around.

I then edited the image changing the colours and curves; I also used a blur tool to put a blur effect on the hand, increasing the opacity. I added the contents title, date and issue number, these all stand out with bright colours in the black background. To blend in with the image background I added a white text box just on top of the photo to make it blend in and wrote This Week? to make the reader feel interested.

I then added my index column on the right 3rd being separated by a red. At the top of that section I added my masthead from the front cover. I decided to colour some of the different words different to differentiate the importance of what the article is about.

I then added page numbers; yellow with a border to stand out to the reader and show the importance of them. I dont like the font size of them or the style, which I could have changed by making them smaller and more simple.

I felt the index column was lacking structure so I added some lines in under each article story to divid them making them more clear to follow for the reader. I also added a main story underneath the image aswel as a footer which is a common convention to have in contents pages.

After 10 minutes of thinking what to fill the bottom right corner with, I thought Id add a subscribe section.
