Cover Letter to the NRHMs Proposal

February 3, 2012 Subject: To the Board of the NRHM for Movement for Minority Womens Rights:

I am pleased to put forward this proposal namely Movement for Minority Womens Rights. Despite the political and religious challenges DDS has always managed to achieve tremendous progress in its social development objectives. We have also started focusing on minority womens rights who are the poorest and most vulnerable. Pilots to incorporate social protection as a development strategy are aimed to be undertaken with NRHM funding in advocacy arena for the rights of minority women.

DDS believes that rights of Minority Women

be tackled from a holistic viewpoint, transitioning

individuals from being advocated on all forums to becoming empowered citizens in control of their own destinies. Over the years, Dhartee Development Society (DDS) has organized the isolated poor, learned to understand their needs, piloted, refined and scaled up practical ways to increase their access to their due human rights , supported their voice to express their views , and empowered them to become active agents of change. Women and girls of minorities have been the central analytical lens of Dhartee Development Societys anti-marginalized approach because of their vulnerabilities and their need for change.

It is with great pleasure that NRHM has announced its proposal for the uplifting of the underprivileged communities. Attached is a proposal document on Movement for Minority Womens Rights. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

With best regards,

Mansoor Dahiri President Dhartee Development Society Email:
