Martorell is a town in Europe

It is in Catalonia, Spain

Our town is about 25 Kms far, from Barcelona

These are its coat of arms and flag

The most important monument in Martorell is the Devils bridge, upon Llobregat river The original bridge was built by the Romans, in the 10 AD.

Martorells town hall is placed in an old building built in the XVIth century

Since the beginning, Martorell has been a crossroads point There are two rivers, several bridges, two train stations and two motorways

Martorells population is of about 27.457 Most of them are Spanish, but there are people from other countries too.

Martorell is an industrial town. There are some important factories like SEAT from Volkswagen group.

There are seven primary schools and three secondary schools

The cultural center was open in 1995. There are a library, an auditorium, some showrooms, some town offices and Martorell radio, inside.

This is the sports centre. There you can practise swimming, playing paddle, playing tennis, etc.

In summer, you can swim in an open-air swimming pool

Some important people have been born and have lived in Martorell Some of them are: the tenor Josep Palet, the actor Santi Ibez, the famous artist Muxart, and the philosofer and writer Francesc Pujols.

There are some interesting museums in Martorell like the Enrajolada, the Convents and the Muxarts museum

People from Martorell love enjoying themselves, so there are a lot of festivals and typical activities along the year.
