CET Teleport Launches iDirect Evolution DVB-S2/ACM Network Using T11N Over Africa

CET operates one of the largest teleports in Europe, using more than 50 antennas and associated hub equipment to deliver services to the satellite broadcast and broadband network service industries. CET is expanding its iDirect services to offer a new DVB-S2/ACM platform over Africa using the T11N satellite. CET will specifically target the Southern and Western regions of Africa where current bandwidth constraints are holding back improvements to the economy and to social development. Based on the DVB-S2 standard and featuring Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) capabilities, iDirects Evolution platform delivers dramatic gains in bandwidth efficiency. The Evolution product line can deliver a 30 percent improvement compared to a standard DVB-S systems. An additional gain of 50 percent is possible through ACM, an advanced feature of the DVB-S2 standard which iDirect has built into its Evolution product line.
