River Subj: FY12 ANNUAL TRAINING PLAN FOR MILITARY MEDICINE CLINIC SICKCALL SCREENERS GUIDE Ref: (a). BUMEDINST 6550.9B (b). NAVEDTRA 14295

1. This memorandum is to address the need for an annual training plan for the sickcall screeners course which is mandatory for all Corspman working in the Military Medicine/Aviation Medicine clinic at NHC Patuxent River. 2. The purpose of this training per ref (a) through (b), will ensure job competency and proper patient care and interaction. 3. The LPO of Military Medicine will work with the Training PO on a yearly training plan, which will further be broken down into weekly and quarterly segments. 4. Weekly training will consist of material culled from ref (a) through (b), and will address specific body part and associated medical conditions. The SOAP note and proper writing and presentation will be used also to mirror that specific region being discussed. 5. Quarterly training will consist of a written test covering all previous subjects. Remediation will be provided for any deficiencies experienced. Mock patient interaction will also be incorporated to ensure proper understanding of material. 6. The yearly training will encompass the above plan, and ref (a) through (b). The Corpsman in Military Medicine shall be able to take a proper patient history and present to a Medical Provider with a concise understanding and clear presentation. This will result in a knowledgable staff.
