The beauty of nature, the wonder of birds

From our yards and city parks to the sparkling waters of Lake St. Clair, were surrounded by natures wonders. Have you ever wanted to know more about the colorful birds that come and go in your yard? Do you want to learn more about birds and nature? Are you a bird watcher looking for other birders? Are you concerned about the loss of habitat and increasing pollution in our air and water? From the curious feeder watcher to the serious birder, Grosse Pointe Audubon welcomes you. Our organization serves the Grosse Pointes, Harper Woods and St. Clair Shores to promote the awareness, understanding, enjoyment of and stewardship of the environment with an emphasis on birds and their habitats. We accomplish our mission through our educational programs and community service projects, nancial support of Seven Ponds Nature Center in Dryden, Mich., and through our eld trips. Grosse Pointe Audubon is a chapter of Michigan Audubon, our states oldest conservation organization. MASs goal is to study and preserve wild birds, plants, animals and their habitats and to teach the public of their importance. Southeastern Michigan is on a major yway, and migrating birds use the shore of Lake St. Clair as a freeway on their trips to and from the breeding grounds. Because of that, more than 200 species of birds have been documented in our area! One other thing you probably didnt know: Grosse Pointe Audubon has more than 100 members!
