Dear Parents/Guardians

My name is Juanita Castro and I am a student teacher in Mrs. Cecavas 2nd grade classroom at Vernon Barkstall Elementary School. I am a senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and I am majoring in Elementary Education. Throughout this semester I will be working closely with Ms. Cecava in furthering the education of her 2nd grade class. As you may already know, Ms. Cecava has several years in the education field and thus has a lot of experience which I look forward to learning from. In this process I will be assisting her with lessons, aiding students and closely monitoring their academic progress. I am deeply interested in creating activities and lessons that will help students make adequate academic progress and meet the grade level standards that have been established by the school and state. I really look forward to working with your son/daughter and I am very excited to take part of the Barkstall family in helping our students succeed.
