KOLEJ PROFESIONAL MARA STATISTICS (QMT 1013) ASSIGNMENT SCENARIO: i) How do KPM students spend their monthly money

or allowance. ii) Examine the total monthly expenses of KPM students. REQUIREMENT : I Group: You are to work in groups of 3 to 5 members. Submit the group members names to your lecturer. II Data Collection: Develop and submit a copy of a short questionnaire relevant to the topic. Identify and state the most suitable method of sampling to collect your sample of 50 students among the college population. The sample must reasonably represent the population. Determine and state the method of data collection that your group think is the best to suit the situation / environment. Collect the needed information for the study.

Data Presentation: Scenario i(specifically for qualitative data) Present your findings in the form of a pie chart and bar graph. Scenario ii(specifically for quantitative data) Develop a grouped frequency distribution table using an appropriate class interval. Present the tabulated data in the form of: a Histogram a Cumulative Frequency Curve (Ogive) The above graphs must be fully labelled and all presentation must be in a form of computer generated outcome using the Microsoft Office Excel Program.

Data Analysis: Compute the mean, mode, median, standard deviation and a coefficient of skewness for your data. Briefly summarize the averages, dispersion and shape of the distribution.

Conclusion: Write a short paragraph about the outcome of your survey in relation to the scenario of the assignment.

Grading: Total marks for a complete and correct presentation is 100. Marks will be given to each and every work correctly shown. Full effort and team work by all members of the group is needed in order to gain the highest mark possible.

Due Date: Your survey findings / outcomes must be submitted to your respective lecturer by 12.00 pm on 13 April 2012. A penalty will be imposed upon all members of the group for failing to submit on time. Responsibility for completing all the tasks rests on every member of the group.
