Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

It is not hard to lose your edge. Anything that comes in CONSTANT contact with something else gets dull. Ecclesiastes 10:10 If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success

Your edge has to do with 5 things: 1. Vision 2. Passion 3. Integrity 4. Commitment 5. Joy

Once you lose your edge you begin to make up for it with more effort, more activity This usually only ends up with more pressure, more frustration, and more anxiety Which is the usual setup for an ambush that is meant to steal your hope and your joy and render you completely defenseless

2 Kings 6 1 THE SONS of the prophets said to Elisha, Look now, the place where we live before you is too small for us. 2 Let us go to the Jordan, and each man get there a [house] beam; and let us make us a place there where we may dwell. And he answered, Go. 3 One said, Be pleased to go with your servants. He answered, I will go.

4 So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. 5 But as one was felling his beam, the axhead fell into the water; and he cried, Alas, my master, for it was borrowed!

6 The man of God said, Where did it fall? When shown the place, Elisha cut off a stick and threw it in there, and the iron floated. 7 He said, Pick it up. And he put out his hand and took it.

He was aware of what he lost He knew the importance of the ax head He was willing to ask for help He knew it was borrowed He knew the place where he lost it He took responsibility for his actions
