PIRING: Reflection in reality

Nobody denies, Philippines is confronted with many controversial and age old problems like graft and corruptions, the slow wheels of our justice system, socio political diseases and the widely known Child Pornography. These are actually plaguing our country continuously. So in line with the objective of the USC Theatre Guild, that is to espouce the social realistic plays by targeting and educating the students, they have produced the stage play called Piring. Piring is a one of a kind movie or play that reflectively protrays of how poverty and parent influence greatly affects the child, driving them to peddle their innocence at such a young age. I was deeply saddened seeing those worst happenings and exploitations showed. Whats demoralizing is the fact that this form of exploitation and proliferation in internet cafes has been made easier for the poorest of kids to enter it. Everytime they show their precious and sacred body part in videos or photographs really makes me feel pity to them, because that is the only thing they could to earn. The movie devours me and let me reflect that, no matter how we look at them, children are children, and theres nothing else they would want in life other than loving and helping their family for their needs even though it is not their obligations. It is a good thing to know then that Piring always hopres to propagate and wield to the public the childs basic and fundamental rights: the right to education, a healthy environment and the right to live and be loved. Continuing further, Piring is not just a play but a statement of the things that are happening that we fail to see or try to deny. Yes, we deny, that is why it is entitled blinfolded or piring. I therefore conclude, people who are desparately in need of cash will just enter this degrading jobs, for they think prostitutions and child pornographies are the only easiest way to earn money overnight. Now, do you think this is moral? You be the judge.
