From the light blue fat quarter, cut 1 rectangle 13 by 11 1/2. Reserve the extra to make a hanging sleeve for the back of the wall hanging. From the whitework linen, carefully cut from the desired portion, an 11 1/2 by 3 1/2 rectangle. Back with a coordinating fabric of the same measurements, if needed.

3. Sew the 13 by 11 1/2 light blue rectangle to the top blue strip. Machine stitch the final 11 1/2 strip to the top of the wall hanging. Sew to each side the 21 1/2 by 1 1/2 blue strips.

Sewing Instructions:
Sew with right sides together with a 1/4 seam allowance.
1. Sew together the 11 - 1 1/2 various light colored squares to form an 11 1/2 long rectangle. Add an 11 1/2 blue strip to the top and bottom of the assorted square strip. Seams pressed open.

2. Carefully sew the whitework linen to the top blue rectangle strip. Add the backing piece, if needed. The backing piece should be sewn with right side facing the back side of the linen. Using pins is necessary to achieve best results for this piecing step. Add another 11 1/2 strip above the whitework.

4. Using cotton, hand-quilting thread that matches your doily, hand tack your vintage piece to the middle of your light blue rectangle making sure the stitches are hidden, but secure. 5. Layer the quilt top, the batting, and the backing (the 2nd blue fat quarter). Baste and quilt as desired. 6. Sew the binding strips together and attach to the border to finish Using the extra light blue fabric from the light blue fat quarter, fashion the back pocket hanger.
