CHAPTER-1 INDUSTRY PROFILE

The main purpose of research is to supplement the theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge. This report also endeavor to assimilate and put towards all the knowledge and experience that I have got during research conducted. The research is going to play a very important role in developing self-confidence for my future. The knowledge gained from the research is a lifetime experience that I will treasure forever. It pave the way to know about the detailed overview of research. In the context of development and maintenance of good human relations in business industry, 'job satisfaction' sentimentally related to the feelings and emotional aspects, as different from intellectual aspects and rational aspects of individual's experience towards his job-primarily outcome of his attitudes, has been reckoned, a thing that cuts across the whole field of human relations on-the-job. This document aims at providing lecturers and management members with the information that can be beneficial both personally and professionally. Every educational institution has multiple objectives including of adequate profit for payment of a reasonable rate of return to the owners and for investment in business through satisfaction of customers, maintenance of a contented workforce and creation of a public image. The basic job of management of any educational institution is the effective utilization of available human resources, technological, financial and physical resources for the achievement of the business objectives. This project entitled as Job Satisfaction of Women Lecturers was done to find out the factors which will satisfy the lecturers. The study undertakes various efforts to analyze all of them in great details. The researcher in this project at the outset gives the clear idea of the entire department existing in the educational institutions. From the study, the researcher was able to find some of the important factors which

satisfy the employees. Factors like higher level needs, fairness and justice, effortreward linkage, financial incentives and non financial inventive, performance appraisal system, good relationship with co-workers, promotional opportunities in the present job, employee participation in decision making very much effect the level of employee satisfaction. It is also clear from the study that the institutions are so eager in satisfying their employees and their present effort for it is so far effective. The human resources can play an important role in the realization of the objectives. Employees work in the organization for the satisfaction of their needs. If the human resources are not properly satisfied, the management will not be able to achieve the desired results. Therefore, human resources should be managed with utmost care to inspire, encourage, satisfy and impel them to contribute their maximum for the achievement of the business objectives. We at RIMT are focused in giving time based useful education, in order to provide employment to or students. Our Mission is to provide and help the economically class backward people in getting their education by providing them scholarships and options to study.

As a matter of fact we are not of a view of migration of talent from India, however we can only retain it by providing better employment opportunities here. TRAINING & PLACEMENT


RIMT - IET, has set up a comprehensive Training & Placement Department headed by Er. Harmeet Singh Taluja having rich experience in the industry, and has a proven record of industrial liaisoning and achievements in students placement.

Role & Responsibilities

- To provide a vital link between the students and prospective employers. - To plan and organize career talks & personality development programmes. - To develop & maintain close liaison with industry / organizations to facilitate placement of students.

Industrial Training:
Students are placed for practical training in various establishments according to their area of interest and specialization. Monitoring of training of students in different industries is conducted by faculty members of respective departments. Analysis of industrial training is carried out on the basis of evaluation report received from the industries, matter content and presentation of the training report submitted by the students and viva-voce conducted by the expert committee, constituted, (discipline wise),for the purpose.

Career Talks / Expert Lecture:


With a view to bridge the gap between industrial requirements and academic curriculum, experts from the various fields of engineering and management are invited to enable the students to know and understand the requirements of industries and accordingly prepare themselves for the future.

Counseling :
Individual counseling is provided to students for employment potential in various industries / organizations including self employment, opportunity in defence services and scope of higher education within the country and abroad and apprenticeship scheme after their graduation. Training and Placement Department is fully functional and proactive. The department is geared up to provide its quality services not only in employment to students during studies, but also their employability through well planned and organized training and personality development programmes in their development to face the corporate world. The objectives are:

Assist students develop/clarify their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counseling and group sessions. Assist students develop and implement successful job search strategies. Work with faculty members, department Heads and administration to integrate career planning and academic curriculum as well as coordinate Project Work/ Summer Training/internship programs. FACILITIES
SVIET provides with certain facilities to its students which are as follows :1. Labs (i) Workshop & Labs WorkShop The Institution have Hi-tech engineering workshops, well-equipped with apparatus and modern facilities to give the students hands on practical exposure. The institution has Various workshops i.e. Carpentry workshop, Electrical workshop, Fitting workshop, Foundry workshop, Machine workshop, Sheet Metal workshop, Smithy & Forging workshop, Welding workshop etc.

(ii) Engineering Labs Technical education is incomplete without an adequate training in the laboratory & demonstration. The fundamental of experimentation are taught to students in the laboratory. While handling the instruments, taking measurements and analyzing results, the students gain confidence and can understand the phenomenon better. The laboratories are equipped keeping in view the training for basic of the subject and also the research and industrial requirements.

(iii) Drawing Halls The Institution have extremely well-equipped drawing halls functioning in wellventilated, spacious and well-lit buildings with all necessary facilities, satisfying the AICTE norms. A drawing room which is spacious houses 60 students for drawing at a time is impressive. The furniture provided in all drawing halls are comfortable The Right Environment. 2. Computers Along with the multi-faceted campus to go with, a large number of IBM computer systems and strong network with LAN facilities adds a different dimension to the computer centre. The computer centre is equipped with more than 700 networked IBM Desktop, HP Thin Clients, Sun Rays Thin Clients and IBM, HP Laptops machines. The entire system works on Windows, Linux and Solaries environment. The computer centre has 4 MB leased line internet facility well networked in all the labs.All Blocks are connected with fiber optics with 1Gb connectivity support with Nortel Switches connectivity. Fully well planned network with advance facility Server Room connectivity with Fiber Optics, Nortel Switches, CISCO Router and Sonic Firewall security. HP Thin Clients Labs Computer Centre is equipped with HP-Thin Clients Labs, with HP Balde Server's, with fiber connectivities in different blocks .Fully wi-fi campus. Sun-Rays Thin Client Technology Labs Computer Centre I is equipped with Sun Ray Thin Clients Labs, with Sun Ray Balde Server's, with fiber connectivities in different blocks .Fully wi-fi campus. IBM/HP Laptop Labs Computer Centre I is equipped with IBM Laptops and HP Laptops ,Toshiba Laptops with wi fi facility for students. IBM Desktop Labs Computer Centre I along with the multi-faceted campus to go with, a large number of IBM Desktop computer systems and strong network with LAN facilities adds a different dimension to the computer centre.

3. Sports Gangsar-Jaito sports complex of SVGOI is surely something to talk about. The Institution has facilities for a number of indoor and outdoor games like, Table Tennis, Bad-Minton, Lawn Tennis, Basket Ball, Volley Ball etc. The institution provides excellent facilities for all track events, well-designed fields and courts along with separate gymnasiums for boys & girls. Existing facilities are being continuously extended. 4. Campus The campus is meticulously planned and is setup at 25 acres land with state of the art buildings and infrastructure in the foot steps of Shivalik hills. The campus is having 1,00,000 sq. ft. covered area. The Campus divided into functional zones like Hostels, main College Buliding, Administration Block and a sports complex.The campus is well equipped with well-planned building having facilities like well lit lecture halls, tutorial rooms, drawing halls, laboratories, computer centre, library, canteen, hostel, sports complex. The campus is having lush green lawns and landscaping is done by PAU experts. Lecture halls, Tutorial rooms, Drawing halls, Laboratories, Computer centre are well laid out with state of the art Audio Visual support. Institute is centrally located on Chandigarh - Patiala highway. The nearest airport is Chandigarh, the nearest railway station is Rajpura. Other major towns within the radius of 30 kms are Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali, Rajpura, Patiala, Ambala, Mandi Gobindgarh. The College has outdoor sports facilities such as spacious Basketball courts, lawn tennis courts, Volley Ball and an Athletic track. 5. Library Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering and Technology has a well-established Library, which caters the need of the students, research scholars and the faculty. The Library Functions on an Open Access system for the faculty members and the research scholars. But the students have only a limited access it is automated with a wide collection of the latest books, periodicals and CDs. This collection is expended and updated each year. The open access system provides reading and reference

facilities for faculty and students. Separate Reference Section has been made in the Library. A combination of online and offline information resources are The institution has also acquired the membership of British Library and the American Information Resource Centre with the purpose of providing free access to their reading rooms and reference collection to the students. The Library offers photocopying facilities too. Learning volumes on CDs are also stocked for individual and mass viewing. There is a computer based catalogue system that provides information on the availability of books, journals and other material i. e. Online Public Access Catalogue facility is provided by the Library. The Library aims to stock all the books and periodicals which the students are required to read while studying at the College.

21st Century belongs to Era of Web Information as Internet plays backbone for every aspect of life. Understanding the need and importance of Internet in the field of education both the campuses at Landran & Gharuan is supported by round the

clock High Speed Internet Connectivity of 14Mbps and have strong backbone of dedicated OFC link throughout the campuses with the help of which the students can surf the Web and can enhance their knowledge as well as extract unlimited eInformation. In addition to this, the students are also being provided Wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi) using which the students can access online information anywhere in and around the campus using their Laptops.

CGC has a tie up with surrounding hospitals including Fortis Hospital, Sohana Hospital, Ivy Hospital, Mohali, Cosmo Hospital, Mohali etc. for concessional consultancy, tests and treatment. 4. To deal with emergency cases, college transport is available round the clock to carry the patients for treatment at surrounding hospitals.

3. Sports
The organization provides adequate infrastructural support for all such studentactivities which would provide them with physical fitness & personality development and cultivate in them sportsman spirit, team spirit, leadership and talent. There are in-campus activities like cricket, basketball, volleyball, football, track field, athletics and indoor games. Wide participation of students is encouraged. Students are also encouraged to participate in inter-colleges, open, invitation and other external tournaments, sports meet, cultural and other competitions. Besides the indoor games facilities, a high tech Gymnasium is already operational in the hostel to promote physical well being and healthy recreation of students. Many other facilities are being planned. Students of CEC have already won prizes and distinctions in competitions at other places.

Chandigarh Group of Colleges has the facility of a spacious and clean can conveniently accommodate a 200 students at a time, functioning in the campus. The canteen is provided with modern furniture and electrical automatic cooking and storing facilities, which provides hot lunch, snacks and beverages both to the students and staff at reasonable rates. 6. Transport
Both the campuses (Landran & Gharuan) are well connected to nearby cities through own & public transport system. CGC possess its own fleet of luxury buses which are used to ferry students, faculty and staff members from Mohali, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Manimajra, Rajpura, Patiala and Morinda to both our campuses. Library is the brain of any educational institution of higher learning. It is the hub around which all the academic activities of the institution revolve. The central library of Chandigarh Engineering College is computerized and is stocked with thousands of books authored by authorities on the subject. The intake of books is a regular feature in the library and no important title related to thea courses of study is missed. Academic partnership with Swiss School of Management Swiss School of Management having Management School setup in Italy, London and headquarters at Switzerland has joined hands with CGC, Landran to form academic alliance in order to provide world class education in the field of Business Management. Library & Reference Material

A fully air conditioned, computerized library is well equipped with several thousand professional books on Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Soft Skill development & humanities. The library caters for over 50 National and International Magazines, Periodicals and Journals. The library functioning is facilitated by a computerized catalogue for online reference. There is an exclusive reference section where valuable books are accessible. There is an additional reading hall where library members can study and prepare notes.

Sports & Games

In pursuance of "A sound mind prefers a sound body" participation in outdoor games and sports by students is not only encouraged but emphasized adequately. Annual competitions of different games and sports are conducted. The college is represented in various games and sports at University and higher levels.

Computer Labs

The Computer Labs are artistically and ergonomically designed, where students get an opportunity to develop their skills according to the global needs and international standards. SASIIT&R has high-end computing and network resources for the academic and research programs. The students and staff have access to software tools and systems to execute real-life projects. The institute strives to make learning more creative, interactive and information driven by using sophisticated computer techniques. The Centre would offer training and software development apart from being a support service for the faculty, students and staff. The computer laboratories across the campus house over a three hundred computers for use of students and staff. The labs are set to create specialist environment required for students. Computer Centre supports Core 2 Duo Nodes and High End Servers connected through latest switches. Internet and Intranet network facilities supported by high quality software based on curriculum and global requirements, along with latest operating systems, allowing the students not only to develop their skills but also access the internet for convenient internal as well as external communication with the cyber world, the college provides free access to Internet to its students through 2 Mbps leased line connectivity. Other peripherals such as Laser and Dot Matrix printers, Scanners etc. also support the needs of the users. The institute also plans to become the member of Microsoft Academic Alliance, which would support the institute to receive all the licensed software products of the Microsoft.

INFRASTRUCTURE
The Institute has created a world class Infrastructure across three acres of Wi-Fi enabled campus with built up area 60,000 sq. fts. to provide state-of-the-art education to its students. 17 Air-conditioned classrooms of GJIMT are equipped with computers, audio-visual instruments, LCD projectors, overhead projectors, white Boards etc. The institute has well equipped auditorium with a sitting capacity of 200, which is actively used for developmental and cultural activities. All the members of the staff are provided with independent cabins, computing and internet facility in their Staff Rooms to perform their respective duties in an effective manner.

Computer labs
Computer Labs have more than 265 state of the art computer machines with latest configuration connected by wired network. Institute provides free Internet connectivity through 8 Mbps, ADSL connection to the students and the necessary

software in the areas of computer and business applications. Computer labs are supported by Windows Server 2003 & Linux servers. Computer Labs remains open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is done to encourage students to develop projects and have hands on experience to upgrade their skills.

Hardware Lab
GJ-IMT boasts of well equipped hardware lab comprising of state-of-the-art microprocessor kits (8085 and 8086). An appreciable number of Digital Trainer kits are also provided which enable the students to get hands-on knowledge of the concerned subject.

Library
Libraries are not merely the store house of knowledge, but are also the foundation on which students and faculty build up the professional careers and develop the virtues of life. We have a spacious air conditioned well furnished Library for post graduate programmes stocked with 8810 titles, 12046 volumes, 40 subscribed national journals, 62 subscribed international journals and 98 journals on exchanged base, 38 magazines, and 10 national and financial newspapers. 100 students can sit in serene learning environment for individual & group study at a time. Library remains open beyond the normal working hours of the institute for the students to utilize the library facility for the reference and study purposes.

Sports Centre
A well equipped gymnasium & sports centre ensures that the students are able to develop a wholesome personality.Facilities for games like Table Tennis, Badminton, Volley Ball, Carroms, Chess, etc are provided by the institute for the students. Intracollege matches for different games are organized & college teams are sent to compete at Inter University competition.

AICTE Sponsored Two Week Staff Development Programme on Statistical Methods in Management Research 22 June, 2009 to 4 July, 2009 A two week AICTE Sponsored Staff Development Programme designed for young faculty members with less than five years of work experience was organized at GJIMT from 22nd June 2009 to 4th July 2009. The programme based on statistical methods in management research was organized to enable the faculty members develop their research aptitude and competency so as to improve the quality of management education in this region. The participants gained an appreciation of variety of tools and techniques used in teaching and research in business management, develop a framework for conducting research and effective course material by incorporating suitable teaching pedagogy. Academicians like Mr. Nishant Saxena, IIM(Lucknow), Mr. Rajendra from SPSS Banglore, Dr. S.K. Chadha from Panjab University Chandigarh, Dr. Kulbhushan Chandel from HP University, Shimla, Dr. Tejinder Singh, Kurukshetra University, Dr. Rishi Raj Sharma from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma from NIT, Jalandhar, Dr. S.K. AICTE Sponsored Faculty Development Programme The latest trends in management education were discussed during the AICTE sponsored two-week long 3rd Faculty Development Programme at Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, GJIMT campus, from 19th March to 30th March 2007.

The development programme was attended by faculty members of GJIMT and from various other cities including Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kharar, Ropar, Chandigarh and Mohali participated. Dr.Prem Kumar Director, Aurobindo College of Business, Ludhiana, was the Chief Guest. He advocated the need to keep on upgrading the curriculum and modules of management studies in order to keep pace with the latest in management studies. CHAPTER-2 INTRODUCTION

WHAT IS JOB SATISFACTION?


The term job satisfaction was brought to limelight by Hoppock (1935). He reviewed 32 studies on job satisfaction conducted prior to 1933 and observed that job satisfaction is a combination of psychological, physiological and environmental circumstances that cause a person to say, "I am satisfied with my job". Job satisfaction can be defined as a person's emotional response to aspects of work (such as pay, supervision, and benefits) or to the work itself. basically job satisfaction is an end store of feeling. Notice the word end. It emphasizes the fact that the feeling is experienced after a task is accomplished or an activity has taken place whether it is highly individualistic efforts of writing a book or a collective endeavor of constructing a dam. These tasks/activities could be very minute or large. They may be easily observable or could just be experienced. But in all cases, they satisfy a certain need. The feeling could be positive or negative depending upon whether need is satisfied or not and could be a function of the efforts of the individual on one hand and on the other the situational opportunities available to him. Broadly speaking, "Job satisfaction is the result of various attitudes - in all probability, activated by a worker's needs and their fulfillment (toward work) a worker exhibits towards his job, towards related factors and towards life in general.

A) FACTORS AFFECTING JOB SATISFACTION

Several research studies, both in the West and in India have been conducted and the results of their findings have lighted factors influencing employees' attitudes and responsible for their job satisfaction or job dissatisfaction. Of these, the more important and, better effective, job satisfaction' factors include : Fundamentally, the satisfaction, which people experience in their jobs, is very much related to motivation and performance, such as satisfaction of higher level needs, fairness and justice, effort-reward linkage, etc. According to studies conducted by Hoppock, the important factors that matter in job satisfaction are :

FINANCIAL It goes without saying that financial considerations - fair wages, do matter in job satisfaction, but apart from that there are good many other things that influence job satisfaction. There are : 1. Relative status, which an individual holds within the social and economic groups with which he identifies himself. 2. 3. 4. Relationships with supervisors and associates on the job. Work situations, including nature of the work. Working condition - earnings, hours of work, facilities, etc.

Initiative and personal responsibility. Vacations. Thrill and excitement of the job. Less fatigue work. Health criticism. Job security - steady employment, etc. Ability to adjust one self to unpleasant circumstances.

B) JOB DISSATISFACTION Coming to the issue of "Job dissatisfaction", the Pittsburgh investigations findings, focus our attention on five outstanding factors, responsible for Job dissatisfaction. These are :

C) THE MOTIVATION ,PERFORMANCE AND SATISFACTION RELATIONSHIP Figure below depicts the relationship of motivation, performance, and satisfaction as suggested by recent research about job satisfaction and by theories of individual motivation. From left to right, individual needs and goals (box 1) are fundamental driving forces in motivation. The extent and direction of an individual's motivation (box 2) are influenced by factors in the organizational environment such as leadership style, group norms and support, inter group behaviour, and human resources policies and practices (box 3). Individual motivation is further influenced by the desirability of the rewards (valence) and by the expectancy that effort will lead to the performance that will produce the desired outcomes (box 4). The effort that is expended (box 5), coupled with the individual's skills and abilities (box 6), results in performance (box 8). However, the technology that is in use, the support services that are provided (such as the proper raw materials or parts supplied at the right time), and the training given the person (box 7) are also factors in the level of performance. Performance leads to rewards of both an intrinsic and an extrinsic

nature (box 9). Intrinsic rewards are internal reinforcements such as feelings of accomplishment and self-worth; extrinsic rewards are external reinforcements such as pay, recognition, or promotion.

Job satisfaction (box 11) stems from performance and the accompanying rewards but is influenced by the extent to which the individual perceives the rewards as equitable (box 10). An arrow is drawn from box 11 back to boxes 1 and 2 because job satisfaction or dissatisfaction affects need fulfillment, future goals, and ongoing motivation.

D) JOB SATISFACTION AND WORK BEHAVIOUR Generally the level of job satisfaction seems to have some relation with various aspects of work behaviour like absenteeism, adjustment, accidents and productivity. Job satisfaction & Absenteeism In everyday life certain contingencies require a little extra effort of the part of workers to came to work. A minor problem with bicycle, a drizzle, a small tiff with spouse and several such incidents have a tremendous impact on the work attendance. For a dissatisfied worker these may be major reasons for missing the work but for a satisfied worker these may be relevant. Job satisfaction and Adjustment If the employee is facing problems in general adjustment, it is likely to affect his work life. Although it is difficult to define adjustment most psychologists and organizational behaviorist have been able to narrow it down to what they call neuroticism and anxiety. Adjustment problems usually show themselves in level of job satisfaction. For long, both theorists and practitioners have been concerned with

Employees adjustment and have provided vocational guidance and training to them to minimize it is compact on work behavior. Most literature in this area, generally suggests a positive relationship between adjustment and job satisfaction. People with lower level of anxiety and low neuroticism have been found to be more satisfied with their jobs.

Job satisfaction and Accidents Research on relationship between job satisfaction and accident, generally shows that the higher the satisfaction with the job, the lower is the rate of accidents with the job, the lower is the rate of accidents. Though it is difficult to explain such a relationship but generally a satisfied employee would not be careless or negligent and would encounter lesser possibilities of running into an accident situation. The more favorable towards job would make him more positively inclined to his job and there would be a lesser probability of getting and unexpected incorrect or incorrect or in controlled event in which either his action or the reaction of an object or person may result in personal injury.

Job satisfaction and Productivity It is generally assumed that satisfied employees are more productive. But research reveals no relationship between job satisfaction and productivity.

CHAPTER-3 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research in common parlance refers to a search for knowledge. One can also define research as a scientific and systematic search for pertinent information on a specific topic. The word research has been derived from French word Researcher means to search. FRANCIES RUMMER defined Research: It is a careful inquiry or examination to discover new information or relationship and to expand or verify existing knowledge. Research is the solution of the problem, whether created or already generated. When research is done, some new outcome comes, so that the problem (created or generated) can be solved.

The research methodology devised in the study has been devised keeping in mind the focused objectives and with the aim of acquiring accurate and authentic Data. OBJECTIVES:

i. To investigate and analyze the factors which satisfy the woman lecturers under consideration of individual characteristics. ii. To check up to what extent are these factors present in the selected institutions. iii. iii. To check how important are these factors for the lecturers.

RESEARCH DESIGN: A research design is an arrangement of conditions for collection and analysis of data in a manner that aims to combine relevance to the research purpose with economy in procedure. A good research design has the characteristics viz problem definition, specific method of data collection and analysis, a research design is purely and simply the frame work or planned for a study that guides the collection and analysis of data.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY: Regional Scope: The research has been conducted over the women lecturers working with RIMT, Mandi Gobindgarh; SVIET, Banur; GJIMT, Mohali; SASIIT & R, Mohali; and CGC, Landran.

DATA COLLECTION METHOD: Data was collected through primary and secondary resources. Questionnaire was formulated which was distributed among the women lecturers of selected institutions to be filled. Secondary data was also used as a help to complete the research.

SAMPLING TECHNIQUE: All the respondents who were easily accessible and willing to share the information were administered the structured questionnaire to get the desirable information. A Convenience sampling technique was used.

SAMPLE SIZE: The sample size for my study was taken to be 57. SURVEY METHOD USED: Survey method used by me for my study was Questionnaire.

ANALYSIS: Responses of various factors which affect the level of satisfaction of the women lecturers at work have been displayed through bar graphs. 1. FINDINGS

THE POINTS WHICH SHOW SATISFACTION OF WOMAN LECTURERS TOWARDS THEIR JOB ARE:1. They are given enough authority to make the decisions they want to make. 2. There is a spirit of co-operation in their organization. 3. They enjoy cordial relationship with their colleagues. 4. The proper use of their knowledge & skills make their job interesting and motivates them to do it well. 5. They enjoy a comfortable work environment along with proper space for lunch & breaks. 6. They have an easy access to the resources they require to do their job.

7. There is flexibility to balance the demands of work & personal life in their job. 8. There is no biasness made between the male & female colleagues, hence they enjoy equal share of rights & rewards. THE POINTS WHICH SHOW DISSATISFACTION OF WOMAN LECTURERS TOWARDS THEIR JOB ARE:1. There is less flexibility in the working hours. 2. There is an improper connection between their pay & performance. 3. Incentives & bonuses are not given as per performance even if they deserve. 4. There are fewer opportunities for their advancement & growth in the organization. 5. There is a fear of job insecurity.

CHAPTER-5 RECOMMENDATIONS

o Efforts should be made on the part of management in understanding the

feelings of the lecturers so that the objectives of organization can be achieved cooperatively.
o More opportunities should be provided to increase scope of job. i.e.,

lecturers should be given chance to 'Man' their own job.

o They should be given more participation in Decision Making. o Scope should be increased to achieve aspirations and ambitions of the

lecturers. o More flexibility and freedom should be there in job. o There should be a positive connection between pay & performance. o Deserving lecturers should be given incentives & bonuses as & when required.

CHAPTER-6 CONCLUSION

The objective of the project is TO DETERMINE THE LEVEL OF SATISFACTION AND DISSATISFACTION AMONG THE WOMAN LECTURERS WORKING IN THE SELECTED PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS For fulfilling this project I have done the survey on 57 woman lecturers working in RIMT, Mandi Gobindgarh; Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering & Technology, Banur; Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran; Sahibzada Ajit Singh Institute of IT & Research, Mohali; and Gian Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology, Mohali. and I conclude that:

The level of job satisfaction is high as most of the lecturers are satisfied with the nature of their job, flow of information in the organization, access to resources, relationship with each other, comfortable work environment, flexibility to balance the demands of their work and personal life, efforts of the lecturers are valued in the Organization, they feel motivated with the way they do their job. The various prominent areas of dissatisfaction are less priority given to job security, new innovations for the job are overlooked, they are not paid according to the nature of their job, they are not given incentives & bonuses as per their performance as and when required. Fewer opportunities of advancement and growth in the Organization. The institutions, now days, are laying proper attention on the different variables which cause dissatisfaction among the faculty members like implementation of changes & innovations, providing more opportunities to the employees to increase scope of their job, etc. So, I would now conclude by saying that the level of job satisfaction among the female lecturers working in these institutions is moderate as it is analyzed from the study.
