Figure 1: Image of a western blot immunostained for cow IgG. Serum samples from adult, newborn, and fetal cows were electrophoresed alongside standards of cow transferrin, serum albumin, and -globulins on a 0.8% agarose gel at 170 V. The proteins were blotted from the gel onto a nitrocellulose membrane and the membrane was treated with rabbit anti-cow IgG antibodies coupled to horseradish peroxidase. The membrane was then incubated in hydrogen peroxide and 4chloro-1-napthol to produce coloration in the presence of cow IgG.
