Starter: 1.25 Share learning objectives Whole class discussion about what has been done so far as part of the initial Design and Make process. Teacher led discussion. Write key statements on the board Task 1: 1.35 Pupils will be working in groups with people who have the same design brief and are thinking of making similar products. Pupils will discuss with their groups which product they want to analyse (2 min). Hand out food product analysis sheets and food products. Discuss the boxes on the sheet and how they should be completed. Give examples on the board. Explain to pupils that they must not eat the product until all of the other boxes are completed. When pupils have finished these boxes they need to gather around the centre table. Explain how they need to taste the product and that they must describe primary and secondary tastes and textures. Pupils return to their seats to complete the rest of the boxes. Task 2 Pupils need to take out all of their research. Working with a partner they will discuss their research. These will be completed using the research. Discuss the first few points on the sheets as a class. Pupils need to continue with this individually. Plenary: Pupils have 3 minutes to record 3 things that they have learnt in the lesson. Teacher: collect in, scan through comments and discuss. Carry onto next lesson if necessary.
