The Socio economic Unit believes in smart partnerships through our IGR Forum to reach our objectives. Witzenberg is the only municipality in the Cape Winelands area which started a monthly IGR Forum consisting on 6 Sub committees namely Poverty Alleviation, ECD, Youth, Community Safety, Health and Vulnerable Groups ( Women, Farm workers, Disabled, Children). Pro-poor Policies (e.g. indigent subsidies)

NSTITUTIONAL - COE Social development is simply not a core function of municipalities and the budgets is therefore limited. Global warming and climate change threaten our agriculturally based economy Substance abuse can become a threat Farm evictions increase TB and HIV/AIDS
