    Dear Parents,

    Hello! My name is Andrew Patterson and I will be a student teacher in your son/daughter's 11th/12th grade U.S. History classroom for the next five months. I am currently a senior at Drake University where I am working towards my all Social Science Endorsement in Secondary Education. I specifically requested Des Moines Public Schools for my student teaching assignment this semester. Through practicum experiences at Hoover, North, and Roosevelt it is apparent that the district has always made the students and their education their highest priority. Having the opportunity to student teach at such a storied and diverse school as East is truly an honor. Mr. Kelly and I will be covering an engaging and important part of U.S. History over the next few weeks.
