Parts of Speech Group Presentations

With your group of 2-4 people, you will teach the class about one of the seven parts of speech. These presentations will help the class review for our grammar test, so be sure to do a great job! Here is what your presentation needs to include:
1.

You must teach all of the information given in the textbook about your part of speech. Refer to the following pages: Nouns pages 294-299 Pronouns pages 300-307 Verbs pages 312-323 Adjectives pages 330-339 Adverbs pages 340-345 Prepositions pages 350-357 Conjunctions pages 364-369 Interjections pages 370-371

2.

One member of your group must give the Part of Speech Speech that your teacher will provide. You must have a poster, model, or other visual aid to help your classmates understand your part of speech. Your group must present a skit, a song, or a rap written by your group about your part of speech. Your group must engage the class in learning. You might ask questions, prepare a hand-out, or play a learning game with the class. (Note: if you have a hand-out, you must give it to your teacher the day before your presentation so that she can photocopy it.) Each member of your group must speak during the presentation. All speaking needs to be slow, loud, and clear so that everyone in the room can understand it. Your presentation must last for at least five minutes and no more than eight minutes. When eight minutes have passed, your teacher will tell you to stop, even if youre not done. If you are feeling especially ambitious, you may want to include costumes, a video, PowerPoint slides the skys the limit! (You might want to run your idea by your teacher first, to make sure that its ok.)

Half of your grade will be based on the quality of your groups presentation (a group grade, same for all members of the group). The other half will be based on your personal contributions to your groups project, and on your behavior during class. Taken together, these two grades will count as a test/project. Its important! Do your best!
