Assessment of Completed Drawing - 1:500 Detail Survey in AutoCAD

Equal weighting for each section Completeness Does the plan cover the area required? Are all relevant features (and attribute data, e.g. tree canopy width) surveyed? Have all features surveyed been plotted? Has data been recorded and plotted at an appropriate scale? Have spot heights been plotted?

Accuracy How well do the features on the submitted CAD model match their size and shape on the ground? Is the CAD model correctly positioned in OSGB36? Is there evidence of check points having been surveyed and plotted? Have building lines been verified by taped measurements? How large is the angular misclosure in the detail processing? What does this mean in terms of a shift in Easting and Northing? Are there unresolved problems with the data?

Presentation and Professionalism How much attention has been given to the use of colour, line style, line width, annotations and other stylistic elements in order that the CAD plan represents the site in a clear and accurate way? Has the drawing been structured so that different types of information are represented on different layers to provide ease of use for the client and to customise the symbology of these layers? Is the raw data available within the CAD file? Does the line work show good draughtsmanship? Do lines join correctly? Have overlapping lines been trimmed so that they are neat? Does the map show direction and scale? Are spot heights marked appropriately? (Point with label, e.g. SP 121.100m) Are the lines and points at an appropriate width/size for the map scale? Does the map use sensible symbols and abbreviations? Does the plan require a legend?
