Week 8 Subcommittee and Blog Assignments Before our world trade forum this week, you will have

an opportunity to meet with your fellow subcommittee members to discuss the positive and negative impacts of regional trade agreements. Your subcommittee assignments are listed below. You may find general information about each of these assigned topics in the Chapter 8 reading. You should also definitely do some research to find specific examples of both benefits and costs to the nations involved. You will also want to be able to share some basic information about your regional agreement with our world forum members (i.e. members, type of agreement, date implemented, etc.) Be sure to consider both the long term and the short term effects of the agreements and be prepared to cite specific examples. Also consider whether you regional trade agreements can be used as a tool to develop trade in developing regions. You should use your blog for this week as a way to present our findings about the specific regional trade agreement assigned to your subcommittee. If you prefer, you can choose a trade agreement from your home country for your blog. Remember to keep asking yourself what policies could be enacted to improve what currently exists.
