MCM-41 synthesis
615(H2O) : 0.32(NaOH) : 0.125(CTAB) : 1(TEOS) Left for 2hrs of reaction

Filtrate the mesophase

Calcined under nitrogen atmosphere till furnace reach 550o C

Keep at 550o C, Calcined under air atmosphere for 3 hours

Sulfonic acid grafting


MCM-41 suspended in dried toluene MPTS solution for continuous stirring and reflux for 48 hours

Isolation by centrifugation and washed with small amount of toluene

Dried under reduced pressure in a dessicator containing silica-gel

Suspend the MCM-41:SH in 30% hydrogen peroxide

Aniline Adsorption and Polymerization


Prepare one vial with Ani monomer and another with MCM-41:SO3H

Two vials put into a vacuum system and heated to 50o C

For 3 hrs, MCM-41:SO3H_Ani is suspended to APS solution (100mg MCM-41:SO3H_Ani : 10 ml of 0.2 mol/L APS solution)

Conclusion
Ani polymerization into the pores of a sulfonic acid-grafted MCM-41 PAni produced in the ES form through direct auto doping process. Inorganic porous framework acting as template and counter-ion to the doped PAni.
