Question 1 An automobile moving through a rough terrain can be modelled considering a) Weight of the car body, passengers, seats, front wheels and rear wheels; b) Elasticity of tires, main springs, and seats; and c) Damping of seats, shock absorbers, and tires. Develop 3 mathematical models of the system using gradual refinement in the modelling process.

Question 8 Show that any linear combination of sint and cost such that x(t)= A1sint + A2cost, where A1 and A2 are constants represents a SHM. Question 9 If one component of the harmonic motion x(t) = 10sin(t + 60) is x1 (t) = 5sin(t+30), find the other component.

Question 10 The impact force created by a forging hammer can be modelled as shown below. Determine the Fourier series expansion of the impact.
