1. What subject and specific content will you be teaching when observed? I will be teaching Business Essentials. The Unit is on Business and the Business Plan. 2. What is (are) the learning goal(s) of the lesson that will be observed? The goal for this lesson is to teach students how to look for business related topics in the media. I am introducing them to Business Week and teaching them how to effectively read and summarize topics. 3. Are there students in this class with special needs (e.g., IEP's, SST's, Physical Disabilities, etc.)? No 4. How do you specifically plan to engage students in the content and not just "keep them busy"? I am engaging them by letting them pick their article. This is a way to incorporate differentiation into the lesson. 5. What difficulties do you anticipate students having with this lesson? How have you planned to deal with these difficulties? They may need assistance with the website. I will walk the room and help those who need it. 6. How will you assess student achievement of the lesson goals? The students will share their article and summary with the class. They will be assessed through their verbal summaries and answers that they give. 7. How will you make use of the results of the assessment(s)? The main idea of this lesson was to use literacy in the lesson itself. I will assess their reading and summarizing skills.
