People that think of suicide do not often look for help because of the following reasons: -They believe nothing will help -They do not want to tell anyone they have problems -They think asking for help is a sign of weakness -They do not know where to go for help
Having trouble concentrating or thinking clearly Giving away belongings Talking about going away to fix problems Suddenly changing behavior Losing interest in activities you used to enjoy Performing self-destructive behaviors, such as heavily drinking alcohol, using illegal drugs, or cutting their body Pulling away from friends Not wanting to go out Suddenly having trouble in school or work Talking about death or suicide, Saying that they want to hurt themselves Talking about feeling hopeless or guilty Changing sleep or eating habits Arranging ways to take their own life

1.)People who talk about suicide will not actually do this. 2.)All suicidal people wish to die. 3.) All suicidal people are mentally ill. 4.) Suicide is inherited. 5.)Once a person is suicidal, that person will be suicidal forever. 6.)Suicide occurs exclusively among the poor and the rich.
Suicide Facts
1.) People who talk about suicide frequently will attempt to do it and succeed. 2.) Asking people about suicidal intentions will not cause them to commit suicide 3.) Suicide RARELY happens with out warning. 4.) Once a person is suicidal, that person can change his/her mind to be better with help. Suicide is not a forever disease. 5.)SUICIDE IS NOT INHERITED. 6.)Suicidal people are not crazy. 7.) Suicide happens to all people, it is not specifically only in one social class

Do not keep guns, knifes, drugs, and alcohol around. Avoid feeling depressed about many things Exercise more often Be more social Never feel lonely because there is always some one there Talk to a trusted adult or friend Go to the doctor Do not be so negative about everything If there is a problem, talk it out.
