Objectives of the Study : o o o o To ensure efficient and proportionate deployment of credit to all the sectors To ensure improvement of the standard of living of the rural/distressed people To help overcome the hurdles faced by women and weaker sections of the society in accessing bank credit and other services To ensure that banks dont end up paying penalties for non-achievement of the priority sector lending targets prescribed by the RBI

6. Scope of the Study : Scope of the study will be limited to IDBI and finding out various strategies that IDBI Bank can implement to enhance its priority sector lending

7. Research Methodology designed along with justification (attach separate sheets of paper if necessary) : The research project is based on secondary data pertaining to various circulars by RBI, other in-house circulars of IDBI Bank and articles available on the internet. The research methodology will be a quantitative one, where various statistical data would be provided along with its analysis. 8. Concepts/tools of analysis identified by the student for application in the project. The project consists of analysis of statistical data of RBI Circulars & In-House Circulars of IDBI Bank. Data analysis tool like SPSS will be used in this project for formulating the desired results.

9. Explain the progress made till date regarding the Project work: The introduction, objectives, scope and the theoretical background of the project has been framed; apart from that a comparative study in the area of priority sector lending of

IDBI Bank and another bank having almost same business turnover and number of branches all over India and listing out the reasons for better achievement of lending in the grounds of priority sector lending has been carried out.
