Early Bird

Congratulations to Nursery class for being the winner of our Early Bird.

Class Assembly Blue class will be holding their class assembly on Wednesday 30th May
at 3pm. All welcome.

The Queens Diamond Jubilee To celebrate the Jubilee, we are going to have a red,
white and blue day on Friday 1st June. Children can wear their own clothes for the day, as long as they are red, white and blue. We will be collecting money for charity. School council will count the money and decide which charity to donate to.

National Cricket Day Cricket day was a huge success!

We couldnt have asked for

better weather for our Caribbean themed day! Children were drumming with the London All Stars, making smoothies, salt fish and ginger beer with Chef Ben, rhyming with John Agard and Bob Cattell, cricketing with Charlotte Edwards, Kevin Peiterson and legend Viv Richards. Our storyteller Anika Wilson told Caribbean stories, sung and danced all day! We had a beach in the playground, with a boat and parrots dotted around the school. A huge thank you to Sainsburys who donated fruit and to Sarah and Lucia who worked with Anika and Fabian from the Cricket Foundation to organise this brilliant day. A fantastic time was had by all!

Living Space Bid

As some of you may know, Oasis has submitted a bid to Lambeth to

be the lead partner in delivering services out of Living Space. Lambeth Council Living Space is a community centre, next to Waterloo Millennium Green. If Oasis is successful, we plan to deliver lots of exciting activities and events from the centre including after-school sport and art activities, regular weekend family events, a new cafe, and employment and training workshops. Living Space would be a great addition to the Oasis Waterloo Hub and, as it is so close to the school, there would be lots of opportunities for you and your children to enjoy the new facilities Oasis would offer. On MONDAY 28th MAY from 6.00pm-8.00pm Lambeth are holding a meeting at Living Space. Members of the community are invited to score the bids which have been submitted to run Living Space and their views will be taken into account when selecting the preferred bidder. Please come along and hear Steve Chalke's presentation about Oasis's vision for Living Space and to show your support.

Community Buntathon Oasis are undertaking a world record attempt to make the
world's longest line of bunting! Between now and July 27th, as a way of creating a lasting legacy for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, our community are being asked to create bunting flags which will then be sewn together to help create the record-beating bunting line. Further details to follow.

Mathletes A huge round of applause to Ricardo, Tsion, Tania and Henok who represented
the school at the Lambeth Maths Olympiad. This is a very challenging competition where children are asked mental maths questions such as subtract 184 from 562, what is the sum of 123, 124 and 125? and division and times tables questions. They only have 5 seconds to answer! Watch this space to find out if they have earned enough points to get through to the next round.

Jubilee Jamboree On Monday 4th June, Oasis are holding a free event in Waterloo
Millennium Green to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. From 3.30pm until 5.30pm there will be the Great Big Family Feast where you are invited to bring a picnic and enjoy the entertainment which will include live music and a bouncy castle. From 9.30pm-1030pm there will be the lighting of the Jubilee Millennium Beacon - a national event - and the chance to witness a historic moment. Oasis are looking for volunteer stewards for this event. If you would like to help, please call Ro Leech on 0207 921 4205.
