Windows XP Virtual Machine Details.


How do I start the Virtual Machine?
Open the Student Lab Software VM application which can be found on the desktop of all Student lab computers in ECM.

What is the username and password?


When initially opening the Windows XP VM you will be required to enter your student number and Pheme password as shown to the right. This enables the use of items from your Windows 7 desktop such as mapped drives. You will then be required to login to the Windows XP VM, for which the following standard details can be used. Username: XPMUser Password: uwa

How do I print from the within the Virtual Machine?


To print a document from within the Windows XP VM open your required document or program, select the option to print in the usual manner. Make sure the following printer Global on PctPrntSrv is selected (this will be the default printer) then proceed to print your document. You will now be able to use any Student Lab printer on Campus to retrieve your printed document by swiping your student card over the card reader.

Where do to save documents in the Virtual Machine?


From within the Windows XP Virtual Machine you will also have access to your student home drive (H:) as shown to the right. Saving documents to the H: drive from within the Windows XP VM will ensure those documents are available to you from any Student lab computer within ECM.
