Patient Test Dosing Procedure Criteria: 1.

This protocol will be use to guide medical assistants in the process of patient test dosing and preparing a patient to be discharged. Procedure: 1. Physician provides test dose by using patients vitals, past medical history, and age. The physician then records information in patient chart and informs medical assistant of patient status. 2. The medical assistant then draws up the desired dose and records test dose concentration, test dose amount, and dosage time in "Referral to Emergency Room Physician" sheet as well as patient chart. 3. The medical assistant is to then enter the room and greet the patient with "Hi Sir, I spoke to the doctor and he said your ready for your test dose, so lets get that started". The medical assistant is to then advise the patient to lay back on the exam table with pants and underwear down. for A. It is company policy to greet all patients in the manner stated above their initial test dose.

4. The medical assistant is to then follow the appropriate procedures for ICI injection and deliver said injection correctly. 5. The medical assistant is to then advise patient to stand up and provide pressure to injection site for 5 minutes and then massage the penis (from injection site to the head of the penis) for another 5 minutes. The medical assistant is to then exit the room and start the appropriate time for the appropriate room. the A. It is important for the medical assistant to advise the patient to stand entire 10 minutes.

6. After 10 minutes, the medical assistant is to enter the patients room and check the firmness of said patient. The medical assistant is to then record the patients initial firmness and inform the discharge planner of patient status. A. Should the patient have a initial firmness of 80% or greater, the medical assistant is to provide the patient with a cup of water and ONE terbutaline tablet.
