ValleyLINK is donating 10 new computers to the center for senior citizens to use. The program allows senior citizens to keep in contact with family and friends through the use of email and social media sites such as Facebook. The program benefits 254 seniors at the Eugene Senior Center. Volunteers from ValleyLINK and students at Central Valley College are teaching the seniors how to use the computers. ValleyLINK received a $30,000 grant from the Foundation for Senior Action to help get the program started. ValleyLINK started the program to improve mental health in seniors. The Journal of the American Medical Association has proven that seniors who have contact with the outside world have a more positive outlook on life. Quotations We hope to increase the happiness of seniors at the Eugene Senior Center through SeniorLINK. If the project is a success our goal is to expand the project to more senior centers around the county. Lou Anderson, President, ValleyLINK I love SeniorLINK.
