Task 1-

Goal Setting
My goal is to learn how to eat better and to learn to maintain a healthy diet. I want to accomplish this goal because I believe that it is very important for me if I want to be able to live life in a regular and healthy fashion in the future. I believe that this goal will be reached in six weeks but it will be a habit that will last forever. My family and friends will be involved with me, because I do eat my meals with my family and friends. Some possible barriers I will face are eating junk food. Of course I will allow myself to indulge in something every once in a while, but I will be making sure that it does not exceed my maximum amount. This project might cost a little extra due to the ingredients in the food that I eat, but it is well worth it. This task will fulfill my SMART goals. I will know that I am reaching my goal when I notice a difference in my eating habits and foods that I consume. Some smaller goals are to make sure that I eat certain amounts of certain types of foods. I will be following the healthy food plate and the food pyramid to help me accomplish that small goal. Three steps that will help me are; to make sure that I eat something different every day, to make sure that there are fresh vegetables and fruits available for snacking, and to keep up with my healthy eating habits, eliminating the bad foods from my diet.

Task 5-

Reflection

My goal was to create better eating habits. I accomplished so many things throughout these past weeks. I used different websites and cook books to pull out different recipes and to try new kinds of foods. My most successful part of my project was when I realized that I had actually been eating well and that I wasnt just lying to myself. If I repeated this project I wouldnt have changed anything. Some of the challenges in reaching this particular goal were restraining myself from eating junk food. I overcame these barriers by telling myself that fruit and veggies would be better and would taste better than a bag of chips. Some skills that I have picked up are being good in the kitchen and knowing how to prepare food. I can now follow a recipe and put the food together like I have done it several times before. This project was very meaningful to me because it showed me that starting good habits for yourself is possible and that living a healthy lifestyle is possible. I definitely feel like I reached my goal. I am excited to see where I go in terms of eating and preparing food. I hope you enjoy the selection of recipes that I chose to present.
