Section I. Things in my life that have influenced me.

When I see behind I always find a little girl that follows me. This kid has been with me in all the important moment in my life. When I learned how to tie my shoes or twine my hair. Also she was to my side when I finally get to the university. There is no moment in my life when my inside kid was not present. All my life with their hardest moments or their most beautiful days I have never forgotten that all of us should be as children, at least in part. I always forgive a friend if he comes close to me and say hi. I offer a hand to whoever needs it even thought nobody asks. But the must important thing, as any child, I never forget that I can always learn something, everyday from everybody at any place. I really think that there are many things that have influenced me but the most important is the little girl that still lives inside of me.

Section II. My beliefs about teaching and learning.

1. Teaching is to make students find out the way by themselves. The teacher is just a facilitator, is the student who really create knowledge. 2. You learn something when it is useful for your life. We also remember more the lessons that we have applied to our real life that those we never have used. 3. Teachers must push students to try and give them a hand when they fail. Students are afraid to fail, but they will learn more from their mistakes. 4. Great teachers learn every day from their students. Teachers must be open-minded and accept they dont know everything. 5. Students learn better when they are motivated. Teacher must be a motivador.

Teachers that have low expectations of their students use to have low results from them. It is better to have positive thinking. 7. A good teacher is also a good listener. The teacher who dont know how to listen to others cant expect that his / her students listen to him / her. 8. The learner overcomes the teacher. The main goal for me as a teacher is that my student can do better than me whatever he or she has learned.

Section III. My beliefs about schools and schooling.

1. School is any place when you learn something value. You can learn something value in your home, on the street, any place, you dont need a building. 2. Schools should have more real life situations. Students dont understand why they must learn. If they could use in the life what they learn in the classroom they probably would learn more. 3. All Costa Rican schools should have environmental programs. Since Costa Rica is an ecological country and the whole world is taking conscience about the global warming, as educators, we must transmit the respect for environment to our students. 4. subjects. Because every school has different needs, the program cant be the same for all of them. 6. Nowadays the education is losing value and respect. Teachers should be admired and get better incomes. 7. Students lack of motivation turns into lack of discipline in schools. It is important to make students value and respect what they are learning and who is teaching them. 8. The school system is not working. We must do something now. The same school system that existed when my mom and dad went to school is not the better for the society of nowadays. It is important to create a new one that answer to the requirements of today.
