ACTIVITY 10
School Head- Dale Pekas
Teacher- Jan Franco
Student- Hazel Datu
Secretary- Angel Sagapi
Topics:
1. Litter in school grounds and classrooms
School Head: As per observation around the grounds and classroom there are
still litters and no students even initiated to pick them up. There are chip
bags and candy wrappers on the school campus from lazy litterers as we roam
around the campus. In order for us to avoid this, we will try to put trash
bins in every corner so that it would be easier for the students to throw
their.
Teacher: In the classroom even though we try to remind the students to pick
there litter, there are still students who were lazy to throw to litters
anywhere. There are pieces of worksheets or handouts on the ground. One
thing that I do is that I always make them pick up pieces of dirt after the
period before their next teacher come.
Student: For me I observed that the reason why the students litter
everywhere is because they are lazy to throw it to the actual trash bin. I
suggest that the classroom officers should be responsible enough to check
and monitor those students are littering and report it to the teachers so
that the students will be given a lesson to learn. Some students even put
gums under the chairs.
Solution: Teachers should teach their kids about why they shouldn’t litter.
Schools should place trash bins in every corner to make sure that the
students won’t walk across the other trash bins to throw trash away.
ACTIVITY 12
1. Being friendly and Earning Trust- as a future teachers, it is really
important for us to build trust to our co-worker, administrators, parent’s
and most importantly to our student. This is the best thing that I can do to
contribute to the positive school culture, because I believe that if my
students can see what I am doing they will follow it and do it also. And if
I can show to the students that they can trust, I can use this to teach them
and help them to do their works comfortably.
2. As a future teacher, the best thing for me to do to encourage and motivate
my students for them to continue doing well is that I should appreciate all
of them, even in their small works. I believe being an appreciative teacher
can help them boost their confidence and can help them do well in activities
and studies. For example, if I call a student to recite, I appreciate their
effort in raising their hands and answering the questions nor sharing their
ideas. With these I can also encourage others to be confident enough in
sharing their answers.
3. As teachers I can also contribute to the positive school culture through
being honest and open to the people around me. As we say Honesty is the best
policy, and in order for the students to imbibe this, we teachers must set
as an example to them. In every work we do, we should always be honest even
in our heads. For example, I can see that there is something wrong with some
policies in the school, I’ll try my best to communicate to the upper heads
to get my insight so that they can also improve or change it because this is
for the betterment of the students.
ACTIVITY 13
Policies help define rules, regulations, procedures and protocols for
schools. All of these are necessary to help a school run smoothly and safely and
ensure that students receive a quality education. Policies are important because
they help a school establish rules and procedures and create standards of quality
for learning and safety, as well as expectations and accountability. Without
these, schools would lack the structure and function necessary to provide the
educational needs of students. Ultimately, policies are necessary to the success
and safety of a school.
School Uniform Policy- the purpose of this is to make sure students wear their
uniforms. These uniforms helps that other people to identify what school they
came from. This uniform symbolizes the school where the student came from. This
creates an identity for a school and is an important part of being a school
student. Part of a school uniform is the I.D so that they can be easily
identified in schools.
No Id No Entry Policy- this is policy was applied to all educational institutions
thus, we must always put in mind that we must bring our I.D. this policy helps
the security guard to determine that everyone entering in the school is part of
those who are qualified to avoid theft, and visitors who can possible treat the
security of the students and staffs. This is also to avoid people who have bad
intentions towards the students just like those NPA recruiters.
Student Code of Conduct Policy- Every student handbook needs a student code of
conduct. The student code of conduct will be a simple list of all the
expectations that the school has for its students. This policy should be at the
front of your handbook. The student code of conduct does not need to go into a
lot of depth but instead needs to be an outline of the things you feel are most
important to maximize a student's learning potential. This student code of
conduct will remind the students on what certain things must they do when they
are inside and outside of the school. It guides them and disciplines them so that
they will become productive and to avoid merits.
ACTIVITY 14
School Uniform Policy- the moment that the student’s enter the mentor’s society
they must use their uniform for the second month, except for those who doesn’t
have uniform yet. This is to help the staffs to determine what department they
came from. And as future teachers they must set as an example to those students
around them. Wearing uniforms gives us the confidence and knowledge that we are
going to be teachers in the future thus we must always put in mind to act what
should a teacher do.
Attendance Policy- this is about being early or in time when we attend our
classes. As a CTE students, we must attend our class on time for us to get used
to it. So that in future when we go to our classes we are not going to be late.
We CTE students have a big responsibility, we must always know that we are being
respected and used as an example that’s why we must always know how to act right.
Attendance and tardiness policies are focused on maximizing attendance and
student learning, and are flexible and responsive to individual situations.
Anti-Bullying/ Anti-Cyberbullying Policy- The purpose of this policy is to help
remind the students that we should never bully others. We must be the number
advocators of this Policy. And as a future Teacher we must know how to stop this
kind of things because of the bad effects that it may bring to the students. The
CTE students must always put in mind to act ethically even in the usage of
technology.
Discipline Policies- Every CTE student handbook needs a student code of conduct.
The student code of conduct will be a simple list of all the expectations that
the school has for its students. This policy should be at the front of your
handbook. The student code of conduct does not need to go into a lot of depth but
instead needs to be an outline of the things you feel are most important to
maximize a student's learning potential. The CTE students are expected to follow
all of these.
Respect Policy- This is the most important policy for me, I believe that when
students respect teachers and teachers respect students that it can only benefit
learning. As a CTE students we must always know how to respects our instructors
and so with the people around us. Character education is increasingly becoming
the school's responsibility. Having a policy in place that education and demands
mutual respect between both the students and the faculty/staff can have a
profound effect on your school building. It is amazing how much more pleasant it
can be and how discipline issues can be minimized through such a simple thing of
respecting one another.
