ACTIVITY 3

Our principal when I was in high school was like Ferdinand

Marcos. He was man who has a high intellectuality handling the
secondary students. He was strict in implementing the rules and
regulations making sure that we are going to be successful. He is a
man who directs his co-teachers and leads them to make sure that they
are reaching the goals of the school. I can say that all the roles and
function of being an administrator was achieved by him.
In a short period it time he become part of the CCDC family, standing
as our father, with that short amount of time he made us feel that all
together we will finish this journey.

ACTIVITY 7

“The Eagle”
This animal symbolize leadership for me, an animal which show great
strength, leadership and vision. As the eagle spreads it wings it
shows that he has the authority and power to lead the others towards a
great destination. The eagle also is symbolic of the importance of
honesty and truthful principles. It also embarks a challenge, a
massive life change or creative endeavor. This animal portrays many
characteristics of a leader that everyone must follow.

ACTIVITY 8
L-LISTENER. The best leaders are proactive, strategic, and intuitive
listeners. They recognize knowledge and wisdom are not gained by
talking, but by listening.
E-EMPOWERED. Being empowered doesn’t mean you are bossy. As a leader
you are empowered to make sure that all task are done properly.
A-ACTIVE. A leader is active in a way that his mind never turns off.
He is active in thinking of possible solutions in some problems that
might occur.
D-DYNAMIC. Effective leadership traits have dynamic qualities that can
make real change which works for group members.
E-ENCOURAGING. Learn how you can encourage more people to be leaders.
An important part of leadership is helping others step up into their
leadership.
R-RESPECTFUL. A leader must always know how to respect other because
everything starts in here.
S-SELFLESSNESS. A learners know how to give the needs and wants of his
followers. Selflessness is all about strength, and it’s not for the
faint of heart.

ACTIVITY 9
A.
“Ningas- cogon” is one of the top negative Filipino traits which is
characterized by somebody who is very enthusiastic at the beginning of
a project, but then in the end, will leave it unfinished. “Ningas” is
a noun which means flame, blaze or combustion, while “kugon” or
“cogon” is a grass which can be easily burned with its representation,
the fast ablazing of cogon-, signifies Filipinos’ way of eagerness
only at the beginning and immediate loss of interest when it
approaches its end (which never happens).
And if you were hit by this mentally there will a possibility that the
school innovation will not be finished. As a leader, the best thing
for me is to focus on my goals and objectives for me to counter act
this mentality. I will also surround myself with people whom I know I
can trust and who would motivate to finish this project. Having this
kind of people will help in continuing the things that I’ve started
and finish till the end and till I make it happen. And I always put in
mind and in my heart on what was written in the book of Proverbs 13:4
“The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of
the diligent is richly supplied.”
Having this and remembering this kind of things will help me defeat
this kind of mentality.
B.
As a school head the best thing for me to do is conduct a meeting and
a seminar that I know it would be helpful in boosting the performance
of the teachers. I will initiate and start having conversation with my
colleagues about what it takes to improve performance. Instead of
waiting for ineffective teachers to “just get it,” I will gather the
courage to have difficult conversations about what it takes to improve
performance. Straightforward conversations about areas that are
lacking should be followed up with tangible ways that the teacher can
improve his or her performance. If, after a certain period of time,
performance doesn’t improve, I will start the process of laying off a
teacher. Which is an advice from Education World. I should remember
that we ultimately have an obligation to the students. And that they
deserve a quality education.
