Go to the following process:

1. Visit a school and observe how the teacher provides the opportunity to the
learners to interact with one another in doing one’s roles.
2. Record how roles are performed by the teacher and the learners.
3. Make your own documentation of the dialogue or conversation based on the
observed roles that one performs which you feel could have been livelier.
4. Highlight the aspect of the dialogue that indicates the teacher as a role model in
developing the values in the process of learning.
MY OBSERVATIONAL REPORT
Observations:
From the observation that was done through google meet, the teacher was
able to provide an opportunity to the learners to interact with one another
through letting them comment their names and section. Through this students
were able to participate and introduce themselves with other students. From
the google meet, there two sections that was combined during the discussion.
With this strategy the teacher was able to give them an opportunity to meet one
another even if it is virtually. There were also times where the teacher ask
questions regarding the lesson and let the students answer her question.
Basing from the observation, the teacher chooses the student who will answer,
and there is also a time were student just open its microphone and volunteer
itself to answer the questions that was raised. If the student did not answer the
student, the teacher still acknowledge and tries to call other student to get the
desired answer for the question. And lastly, the teacher also as the students to
raise their questions at the end of the lesson if they have any queries or if they
there is a topic where they did not understand.

Describe how the teacher communicates the lesson and how the learners are
responding to the teacher. Take note of the manner the teacher accepts or rejects the
responses of the learners. You may present your observations through direct quotes
from the teachers and learners in the dialogue
PERSONAL REFLECTIONS ON THE DIALOGUE
Observing through google meet is a little bit challenging because we couldn’t see how
exactly the students will behave and act as they listen to their teachers. From the
dialogues that I heard, I was able to see how genuine the students in answering the
questions raised by their teacher. There are students who were honest in their
answers in choosing on what they need and want. The teacher tried it’s best to
emphasize the importance of the lesson in our daily lives. She also gives questions to
the students in order for her to test their knowledge. While for the learners, when the
teacher tries to call their names, some of them responds late. For the answer given, I
also saw how the teacher accepts every answers given by the student even if the
answer is not correct. She did not reject any answer and try to ask another student
until the right answer is said. With this strategy, I believed that students will be
encourage to give out their insights and opinions comfortably and won’t be shy to
stand up.
In addition, meeting up in google meet also poses many hurdles, because there are
times that the teacher’s voice is a little choppy therefore, some of the words are not
clear enough to be understood. With this problems, the student doesn’t hesitate to tell
it to the teacher which is also good so that teacher can fix its connection. At the end of
the lesson, the teacher ask the student if they have some questions regarding the
lesson and reminds them to their activities and task given to them.

ANALYSIS
How important are dialogue and substantive conversation in the classroom in
terms of student’s learning?

Dialogue and substantive conversation is important in the classroom in terms

of student learning because this enables the students to share their ideas and
give out their opinions regarding the lesson. Through dialogue, their critical
thinking is being enhanced by exchanging meaningful and educational
information to the class not only during their subject discussions but also when
they communicate on their break times. Engaging the students during
classroom discussions helps them to embody the knowledge they have and
easily remember the lesson. Dialogue and substantive conversation helps the
students to be connected throughout their lesson which enables them to share
their insights. Thus, if students were able to understand and have a smooth
conversation, the teacher can then determine that the students have
understand the lessons. Having the students involved in the discussion is a
great help to train and enhance their critical thinking and communication skills
which is essential in their lives.
What learning benefits could teachers and students draw from intentional
classroom dialogue?

The learning benefits that teachers and students draw from intentional
classroom dialogue is that knowledge does not come fully from the teacher.
They could also learn that through dialogue teachers also learn from the
students. It is a vice versa relationship where knowledge and wisdom is being
shared. With this the confidence of the students is being enhanced wherein
they can have the willingness to interact in the discussions and express their
ideas and knowledge to the teacher and to the other students. Being able to
interact with other people benefits them because both students and teacher
learn new ideas and concepts from each other on which they did not encounter
yet.

Discuss with your FS classmates your thoughts on dialogue in curriculum

design. Then write down your thoughts as well as those of your classmates.
Dialogue is a very important method that we need in curriculum designing. In
doing a curriculum design we need to cover and consider the diversity that we
have in the classroom and school. Thus in order for us to know on what kind of
diverse learners we have, we need to have a dialogue to other people with
different background such as culture, ethnicity, and other more. With this
dialogues, we can know what kind of learners we will have which leads us to
create a curriculum that respect and enrich the diversity we have in classroom.
