Policies on prevention of suicide among youths

- Close to 800,000 people die due to suicide every year. For every suicide, there are
many more people who attempt suicide every year. A prior suicide attempt is the most
important risk factor for suicide in the general population, according to a World Health
Organization (WHO) fact sheet, updated August 2017.
In this time of pandemic, there were many cases of suicide that was reported due to
many problems they faced. Some of it were the new mode of our educational system in
which some cannot go with it. Another is the stressed or the pressure they felt when they
are doing there modules or requirements. With this I want to propose a policy where the
youth today have someone to lean on and can feel that they are somewhat protected.

- The policy is all about things to follow in order for the youth not to attempt suicide or
even do it. This will give them a certain measures and standard to make sure that when
they have problem they can just call a professional and give a hand. Some policy and
strategies are:
- Improve Access to Mental and Behavioral Health Services
Integrate Primary Care and Mental Health Care
Increase Access to Telehealth Services/span>
Increase Health Insurance Coverage of Mental Health Services

Reduce Stigma in Communities

Increase Connectedness with Peer Norm Programs

Work With Communities to Reduce the Risks for Suicide

With this policies and strategies, we aim that the youth today would think rationally and not just
end their life because of the challenges that they faced.
