Serious till very serious accident during maintenance activities ! Safe working around maintenace processes had to be improved: Beter control the workpermit process Beter control/overview of secured installation (parts) More focus om preparation, collaboration and communication between people involved -> The organisation around the system!

Users experience working with WCM complex and confusing. Involve users in the project in an early stage Start simple and not with the whole proces at once (not frequent clicking from object to object) Organize an user readyness test (simulate the proces with busness people M en O), live scenarios

Improvements by WCM

In general Improved safety awareness, many people were involved in the project Similar method of working on 6 power stations, revision teams work at multiple power stations

System No separate application necessary. Issue of workpermit and management of it is integrated in PM order process. Defining and management of lockout/tagout process uses SAP functional locations and is integrated in approval process for work permit.

Improvements by WCM
Working method: When preparing the work order, the workpermit can be prepared too (earlier). Improved safety awareness at work preparation Preparing the lockout/tagout can be done in advance by operations A first conflict check can already be done, when preparing the lockout/tagout process.

System Clear segregation of tasks and duties (Maintenance -> WCA / Operation -> WCD) Support by easy reports (WCL) for the status of securing the installation Improved collaboration between the departments (M & O) for preparing and executing maintenance/safety activities.
