Clothing
1. Goretex is a waterproof/breathable fabric, it used in jackets, gloves. Socks and even boots. 2. Goretex is good to wear whilst mountaineering or climbing because this material will protect by keeping you warm when you moving and staying still. 3. When talking about clothing, the base layer is where the body is constantly generating its own warmth to maintain your body core temperature. The body produces sweat as a natural process to keeping the core temperature constant. 4. It is important to wear loose / comfortable clothing whilst climbing because you need to be able to have as much free moving as possible. 5. Two clothing brands would be Go Outdoors and The Climbers shop, Ambleside.

Rope
1. A dynamic rope is a specially constructed, stretchable rope. This 'stretch' is what makes it 'dynamic', in contrast to a static rope that doesn't have any give when under load. 2. A static rope is a special climbing rope, which does not stretch like a dynamic climbing rope. A static rope (usually 11 mm in diameter) is usually used as a fixed rope (attached to anchors and left in place). 3. The 3 most common lengths of rope are 50m, 55m and 60m. 4. The typical diameter of a single rope is 9-11mm. 5. The most expensive climbing ropes I can find is the Edelrid Eagle Rope (9.8mm x 60m which cost 147.47 and the cheaper I can get this rope for is 107.50.

A Quickdraw is to connect the climbing rope to bolt anchors or other protection, while lead climbing. Outdoors or indoors, the top, straight carabiner is clipped to an anchor on the wall, leaving the bottom; bent gate carabiner for the climber's rope, allowing the rope to run freely and the typical price is around 10 to 15 pounds. 3. An ascender is is a mechanical device used for ascending on a rope and is faster and easier to use and the typical price is around 30 to 40 pounds. 4. A belay device is mechanical pieces of climbing equipment used to control a rope during belaying and the typical price is around 10 to 30 pounds. 5. A Gri Gri is self-braking belay device now allows the use of ropes from 8.9mm to 11mm and the typical price is around 50 to 100 pounds 6. A camming device is a common axle or two adjacent axles, so that pulling on the axle forces the cams to spread farther apart and the typical price is around 30 to 40 pounds.

7. A camming device is a piece of rock climbing equipment where you can used by pulling on the "trigger" so the cams move together, then inserting it into a crack or pocket in the rock and releasing the trigger to allow the cams to expand. 8. Is it sensible to climb in trainers, if not what should you wear? It is not really that sensible to climb in trainers as it is unsafe but it depends on what sort climb youre doing. To get the most out of your harness and maintain high performance, it is imperative to take good care of it and ensure that it is always in good working condition.

In this section, take a look at some ways of taking care of your Climbing Harness:
Always have an ocular inspection of your Climbing Harness. Check out if there are

any signs of wear and tear. This is to prevent further damages that may put the climber at risk. Do not use it if you saw abrasion and other signs of deterioration.
Make sure to clean your harness after a climb. Wash it with water to remove any

dirt. You can also use mild soap. Hang it to dry in an open area away from sunlight. You can inspect the Climbing Harness after it has dried. Any sign of deterioration such as fraying and loose stitching will be more visible if the harness is dry.
Keep your harness away from direct sunlight and harsh chemicals such as

bleach and

acids.
Replace your Climbing Harness as soon as the signs of deterioration become visible.

In general, you should buy a new one after a couple of years of regular usage. You should also replace it after it has held frequent falls.
Store your clean and dry Climbing Harness away from direct sunlight and rain.

Oxidizing materials can also contribute in damaging your harness so make sure to keep it away from strong chemicals.
Check your Climbing Harness before climbing. Do not use it if it shows signs of wear

and tear.
