KERALA & KANYAKUMARI TOUR FROM 20th MAY to 26th MAY,2012-05-31 _____________________________________________________________

We,five members namely Bob Ghosh,Chaitali Ghosh, Barun Ghosh, Archana Sinha,Dibyendu Sinha reached Thiruvantapuram on tour by Flight no. 6E 377 of IndiGo Airlines from Kolkata on 20th May,2012 and put up in HOTEL CHAITHRAM owned by KTDC Ltd. Thampanoor,Thiruvantapuram 695001. Thiruvantapuram is the capital of the state of Kerala and famous for KOVALAM beach and the temple of Padmanava, where Lord Vishnu is lying on eternal bed. On 20th May,2012 We left for KOVALAM beach,which is 16 Kms off from Thiruvantapuram.Big waves of Arabian Sea are jumping over beautiful beach surrounded by Coconut,Palm and Benana trees. It is indeed a beautiful beach of Godown country. 21st May was Monday was the rest day as all the important places remain closed on Monday. 0n 22nd May We left for CITY TOUR covering Puthen Malika Palace, Napier Zoo and ShriChitra Art Gallery and beautiful beach,Shanghumugham, which is 10 Kms off from Thiruvantapuram. On 23rd May,2012 We left for our Dream Land, Kanyakumari, which is 88 Kms. Off from Thiruvantapuram. Kanyakumari is one of the famous holy places, where Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal mix with Indian Ocean. The main attractions of Kanyakumari are Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the statue of Tamil Poet, Thiruvalluvar (Height 133).Swami Vivekananda sat on the Rock on meditation probably on 25th or 26th December,1892. The statue of Swamiji, Meditation Room and the temple of Shripada Mandap are also main attractions of Kanyakumari Tour. Other attractions are Amman temple and Gandhi Mandpam.From Gandhi Mandapam, funeral ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were immersed in the meeting place of three oceans. This temple has been built in such a way that on every 2nd October at 12 noon sun ray focuses on the face ot the statue of Mahatma Gandhi through the hole of the temple. On the way to Kanyakumari, we visited Padmanavapuram Palace, Suchindram Temple and Wax Museum. Wax statues of almost all celebrities are kept in a decent manner. Suchindram temple situates at Nager Coil, where male are allowed to enter bare bodied. Our last whole day visit was at PON MUDI, which is 62 Kms. Off from Thiruvanthpuram. This is hilly station about 3000 high. The scenic beauty of PON MUDI is superb. The word PON means Golden and MUDI means mountain. Returned back to Kolkata by Flight no.6E 378 of IndiGo Airlines from Thiruvanthapuram on 26 th May,2012. This short, beautiful and memorable tour became possible only ..for the strenuous job performed by BOB, BARUN and CHAITALI GHOSH.
