Subject Twitter Form@RuddyglowPark Response (Charlene McNulty) Hello Patricia, 04/07/2012 03:17 PM

Thank you for your communication about the availability of Fibre Broadband at Lochinver exchange. However, I am extremely sorry to inform you, that the upgrade of Lochinver exchange, which at this time, falls outside of our current upgrade footprint. However, we do intend to revisit exchanges such as this in the future. We are deploying one of the fastest and largest commercial deployments in the world. Our commercial deployment will have extended to 66% of the UK by the end of December 2014. We aim extend this to 90% of the UK, in partnership with other sources of funding, e.g. local and National government. Our deployment is based on the commercial criteria for each exchange and cabinet and your exchange and cabinet fails to meet the commercial criteria. This is because the customer base is too small to provide a return on the investment based on the costs for the construction and on-going running costs of providing a new FTTC exchange and cabinets. Where cabinets are not commercially viable Government funding is available to county councils and it is worth registering your interest on your Council website You may also wish to lobby your local councillor on progress in your local area. You can also register your interest on the Openreach website at; www.openreach.co.uk I am sorry to bring you this news and I appreciate it is frustrating but we are deploying Fibre Broadband on a commercial basis and are not able to provide service to your exchange and cabinet on that basis.

Best Wishes, Charlene McNulty BTCare Social Media Team(Facebook/Twitter/Forums) Customer By Web Form (P Filmer-Sankey) 27/06/2012 01:07 PM There are going to be millions of pounds worth of infrastructure invested in the highlands to give "everyone" highspeed broadband but when I spoke to someone at BT yesterday I was told we would "never" get it as it was only for villages with more than 1000 residences. This would rule out 90%+ of the North Highlands. Can you confirm if this is true or not. If not (yipee) can you confirm that I (and the 8 or 9 houses between here and Lochinver) will finally be able to get it and if so when. Thank-you so much. Kind regards Patricia Filmer-Sankey.
