July 27, Fri.-Movie Night 7:30 p.m.-Come join us for an evening of games, snacks, and a movie at the Adamstown Park Grove. You may want to bring lawn chairs or blankets for the movie. In case of rain, the movie will be shown at Gehman Mennonite Church July 25, Wed.-Sewing Circle at Bowmansville Mennonite, morning and afternoon bring your own lunch. Relief Kits are still needed, here is a list of items for a Relief Kit, new items only:-4 large bars of soap in wrapping, 1 plastic bottle shampoo(1324 oz; placed in ziploc bag), 4 large bars laundry soap(Fels Naptha, Sunlight, Zote) 1 squeeze tube toothpaste (min. 6 oz. In box), 4 adult size toothbrushes in pkg., 4 bath towels (med. weight, dark color), 2 wide tooth combs, 6-8 in., 1 fingernail clipper, 1 box adhesive band aids (min.40 assorted), 1 pkg sanitary pads (18-24 thin maxi or ultra thin). Place items in a bag or box and bring them to the church. Sewing Circle will see they are taken to MCC for distribution.*All items in a relief kit can be purchased at Weavers Store, Fivepointville Aug. 4, Sat.-7 p.m.- Outdoor Gospel Concert at Woodcrest Retreat. The groups "CrossOver" and "Good News" will be sharing an evening of great gospel music. A freewill offering will benefit the Children's Summer Camp. Bring lawn chairs. Chicken BBQ meal served from 4-6 p.m. Call 738-2233 to reserve $8 meal tickets. Concert will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather. Aug. 15-18-Choose from over 40,000 used books at Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society during its annual "Bookworm Frolic." Food, magazines and music are also for sale, and new books are sold at steep discounts. Prices drop more each day. Aug. 15-17, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Aug. 18, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at 2215 Millstream Road, Lancaster (on Lincoln Highway East near the Tanger Outlets). -Helpers are needed to go with the children to visit different sites for Bible School in Adamstown from July 23-26, at 6:30 p.m. Any questions ask Darrell Gockley. -As in past years August is our month to provide groceries and Tuesday evening Bible study for the residents of Freedom Gate. If you would be willing to help with either of these or would like to go along to deliver the groceries and participate in the Bible study please sign up on the sheet on the table in the narthex. Freedom Gate is a Christ-centered half-way house which provides a rehabilitative and supportive home environment for ex-convicts seeking to rebuild lives and relationships through Christ.
